I left home
Sailing to the farthest shore
and when I reached it
I found it wasn’t my home
And I reached for the mast
To turn my boat toward home at last
The wind picked up my sail
and took me to the farthest shore
And I look up toward the sky
To see my life
And all these deeds
I’ve done in my life
They weigh on my conscience
The tear at my soul
The pain and suffering
The lies I’ve told
When I awoke
I found myself floating on
Peace found me in the waves
Rolling up and down
The feeling that I sought
Had come over me
And the wind picked up
To carry me home
The farthest shore.
Chord progression is Dsus2, Am, C, G, arpeggio’d finger picking. Two bars each. Very slow.
I had trouble with coming up with some sort of refrain or bridge to tie the 3 verses together, so if you have thoughts, please, feel free to give me a hand.
