Do Trade Paperbacks count?

January 17th, 2008 · 1 Comment

So, I’m curious, in my goal for 50 in 52…do Trade Paperbacks count. More specifically, a trade paperback for a comic book. Since I live right across the street from Chicago Comic Vault I end up reading a lot of books. Before you start making fun of me…modern books are largely gear towards an older audience, with mature themes. No, perve, I’m not talking about Hentai or a Porn comic here, though those are certainly obtainable.

So I’m trying to determine if reading a trade paperback, which can be anywhere from 60 to 120 pages long and encompass anywhere from 6 months to two years worth of issues (generally issues are published monthly), and sometimes contain a story arc that spans multiple titles.

So what do you think? Can you help me make a call here? I’m not suggesting each issue of a book I read constitutes a “book” in this project of mine. But these end up close to a novella at times in terms of the story they tell. Any thoughts?
